Tech 1.1
The upshot is I still have short term memory issues, some things stick, but there is a lot that doesn’t such as names, dates to state a few. I also find it hard to work out my calendar, to remember when I’m busy or have commitments and therefore not double book myself. I also don’t like it when I have more than 4 or 5 outstanding issues or appointments. Up to this amount I’m ok, sometimes even about 5 items, as long as I know what order they are in and have them ‘sorted’ in my head. If not then I get anxious and start to get edgy or sometimes…

Anxiety 1.0
I remember one day standing at my back door, looking out into a sunny garden with a cup of coffee in my hand, I wanted to go out and sit on the garden bench, but I couldn’t. No matter how I tried my body wouldn’t let me walk out of the door and sit in the garden. I don’t know why even now, I wasn’t scared, I wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything, I just couldn’t go outside. Now for me, someone who has travelled around the world, taken flight only trips to Australia and the Greek islands, been around Europe on the unlimited train travel ticket known as Inter-rail,…

Project Plan 1.9
So time for a project summary, we now have a total of 5 projects currently;

Social Media 1.0
I’ve done some research and it looks like the main social media I need to be in is the ubiquitous Facebook as well as Instagram, Twitter and maybe Pinterest. These seem to be the most suitable and what most people recommend for the type of promotion I’m aiming for. What I need to decide next is do I promote myself, or through my personal social media accounts, which I have mostly yet to create or in some cases fill out the ‘forgot my password’ to reclaim a long abandoned account. Or do I create a business account and a brand to go with that, or in fact several brands. Now…

Project Plan 1.3
So, I’ve mentioned crypto but this is only one part of the plan, this is more of a long term and gamble play, it doesn’t really involve much work. In fact it definitely doesn’t require much work as I’m doing the HODL method so it’s deliberately ‘hands off’. I have in the past dabbled with DeFi but giving random strangers on the internet your money and hoping they give it back with interest is too much of a gamble play for me. It’s high risk and can be lucrative but if you’re late to the game and get into the wrong ones you can really get your fingers burnt! Its…

Project Plan 1.2
So the new income stream which I got into just after lockdown and mostly when on holiday on my iPad was crypto. I being in the tech field had of course heard of Bitcoin and Ethereum but that had taken everyone by surprise and I’d not jumped onto that bandwagon. So that whole gold rush had passed me by, I missed the bus, missed out on the gold rush scramble to multi million dollars of ‘easy money’. However a whole new recession was looming, the LUNA crash has recently happened, Bitcoin languishing at about 1/3 of its all time high and all the other coins had diminished in value along…

Project Plan 1.1
So initially I also aimed my financial ‘rebirth’ at the images I was doing of the local area, these started off styled as Railway Posters. So much like the beloved 30’s & 40’s style LNER posters but there was never one of where I lived, a small market town in East Yorkshire so I decided to create my own. Using Adobe Illustrator I created a very simple 4 colour image of the local Minster, this I blew up to the old ‘double-royal’ size of 40” x 25” and hung on my wall. As a few people liked it I decided to print more and sell them, of course this…

Project Plan 1.0
Ok, so as briefly mentioned the plan is to use 1.5 hours a day for betterment, ideally this will be financial because as stated my retirement seems to be getting further and further away and not nearer! Although a bit sad for someone who’s never really thought about retirement and probably not yet relevant to many readers it is a significant milestone I am approaching myself. For others you can think about Project 1.5 as a betterment program even if in your twenties, thirties or forties, look at getting a better more fulfilling life, more financial stability, more creative outlets which are good for mental health and wellbeing, and some…

Ok, so this is a dabble in the dark, I’ve got a few savings built up during lockdown, not much but first savings I’ve ever had. I am not money orientated, I probably should be but I’ve always thought there is more to life and family, children etc have played a big part in that so far. However I’m now 50+ and looking at retirement and starting to feel a little slower, a little more tired, a little more like do I want to do this until I’m 67? No! So when I started my current job the retirement age was 62, not for the state pension but the rather…
